Portland Waterfront Blues Festival

Enjoyed a wonderful Fourth of July weekend at the annual Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival on the Portland waterfront. It was filled with lots of sun, dancing, fireworks and incredible blues music. It's the second largest blues event in the nation. This was also a good opportunity for me to log some shooting time with a new 85mm lens I purchased this week. Can't wait to put it to work at weddings starting this coming weekend.

Today I caught a pair of great performances at the A&E stage. The first was of Portland Blues Experience, a dance group my fiance, Kelly, belongs to. Next up was Terry "Harmonica" Bean, an AMAZING blues musician from Mississippi. You can check out his myspace page here, although it doesn't look like he has too many photos up at the moment. I will probably try to get ahold of his folks and send him a shot or two from today. This guy is great; he intersperses his set with colorful tales of life in the South, growing up living and listening to the Blues.
