DIY Macro Studio!
So I love trying out new methods of photography and such, always fun trying to learn new things. Anyway, I came across this great article on Strobist.com on a do-it-yourself macro photography studio for $10. It basically involves some tape, a cardboard box and some transparent fabric. Strobist pretty much got it right on the money (get it, money?) and my total bill wound up only being about $14 to make the contraption. Anyway, here are some of the test shots I did -- I'm pretty darn stoked.

Solar Power Rocks!
I did a really fast, 10-minute portrait of a local auto repair shop owner and his team for a website promoting the use of solar energy. The auto shop owner, Jim, took the plunge and covered the roof of his building with solar panels. This saves him a few hundred dollars a month on energy costs, and with government incentives the system will pay for itself in 5 years.
Anyway, check out the Q&A article at Solar Power Rocks.

Oregon State University Commencement
I returned to OSU again this year to work for University Events in covering elements of Commencement. Shot behind the scenes photos of president Ed Ray and other VIPs as well as the big thank you dinner they put on in the evening. Quite an honor, lots of fun, good food AND I got to spend time on campus again. Loved it.

Happy Graduation!
I also was hired to shoot photos of Lakeridge High School's graduation for The Lake Oswego Review. Thanks again to my old college friend and amazing singer/songwriter Nicole DeCosta for putting in a good word for me to get me the gig. It felt good to put on the journalist hat again, if only for a few hours - with no press pass - and folks asking me who I was with.
