Carlos and Dawn - Family Portrait Session

This past weekend I met up with Carlos and Dawn at Washington Park in Portland. They'd made a day trip up from Corvallis with the young ones for some family portraits and we had a great time getting shots amongst all of the fall colors.

Josh - Senior Portrait Session

I met up with Josh in the Pearl District for a Senior Portrait shoot late this past week. We caught a (sort of) break in the rain, so we used the opportunity to take advantage of the cloudy weather and bring in some remote light work. This really helped add some punch to some of the shots, and I'm really happy with how they've turned out, especially with some of them reprocessed in black and white. It's a continuation of the "urban" feel trend. Anyway, enjoy!

A Five-minute Break

Hey everyone,

So the end of wedding season crunch is here, and I am virtually glued to my computer managing meetings, invoices, schedules and of course, working on hundreds (thousands actually) of photos. For you -- this is a good thing, since most folks who've emailed me I've managed to reply to in about 30 seconds since I'm right at my desk all day.

Still, everyone needs a five-minute break sometimes so I took my break and spent it ... chasing a squirrel around outside. There aren't any squirrels back home in Hawaii, so I sent this shot home to my parents. I'm sure they'll be thrilled. The little guy seemed pretty confused that I'd pay so much attention to him, he sort of just stood up and stared at me.

Anyway, that's all for now. Look forward to seeing pictures from this past weekend's wedding (Brandy and Jake) within the next day or two!

Elli - Senior Portrait Shoot

I met up with Elli and her mother in Tualatin today for a senior portrait shoot. As with Caleb, Elli requested an urban feel for a number of shots. It felt great to collaborate on choosing where to go to shoot and we stumbled upon a great find -- a wooden railroad bridge and tracks (and a "rustic shelter" by the water complete with ... steel picnic benches. Rustic indeed). Anyway, the shoot went great!

Caleb - Senior Portrait Session

I met up with Caleb in downtown Portland over the weekend for a senior portrait session. He'd requested a strong urban feel for his shots, which he backed up with a longboard, hoodie and djembe. About half an hour in to the shoot, the sky completely opened up in a huge downpour. After taking cover we talked a bit and decided to use the change in weather to our advantage. I'm pretty excited how a lot of the water shots worked out. Enjoy! (update: I've added three more shots)
