Kelsey and Tim - Engagement Session

Tim, Kelsey and I really caught a lucky break in the weather on Sunday afternoon for their engagement pics. Fun times. Their wedding will be coming up this summer out in Hood River, I love it out there and am looking forward to it.

Client Access Galleries!

So great news on my business end. I am now proud to announce that I have a new Client Access feature for my online services. This means wedding, portrait and event clients will now have access to their final, full-size images online from anywhere!

I think this works great, especially for wedding couples since now they can share the link to their gallery with their family, friends and other wedding guests abroad. From the gallery, friends and family can also order their own prints from the big day, right online, woo!

To respect the security and privacy of clients, most of the galleries posted will be password protected, but if you're a wedding guest for any of the ones I've shot in 2009 so far, the images are up, so by all means please contact me for the password.

This is a service I have seen with a few other wedding photographers. It's always seemed like a great additional service, and now I think I've finally found an online image hosting service that's best for folks I shoot pics for. It may seem pretty clean and simple, but believe me I've really put a lot of time into the HTML and CSS this week running on the back end. Programming is not my forte, so it took me a bit longer, haha.

Oh, not to mention that linking to shots posted on this image host site, totally bumps up the size of photos I can display here on the blog -- sweet!

The new client galleries can be linked to by simply entering in http://www.peterchee.com

A Fashion Show for a Good Cause

This past Saturday I donated some of my time and services to help out with a Benefit Fashion Show. The event was organized by a mother-daughter team and all proceeds went toward Yellow Brick Road, a shelter for runaway teens in Vancouver, WA.

Anyway, it felt pretty good donating my time for a good cause, plus the fashion show itself - themed after "The Wizard of Oz" - was quite fun to shoot. Also, Leanne Marshall, the New York Fashion designer and winner of Project Runway Season 5, was on hand to showcase some of her work and act as a special guest judge.

Well, I've posted some of the shots here. But given that this was a freebie, feel free to see ALL of the high res shots at http://www.peterchee.com

Cheers!

Spring Savings...

Hello Graduating Seniors!

It's not too late to get your senior grad shots taken before graduation in June. Maybe you had your own grad shots taken in the fall, but have you been wanting to get a group of friends together for a group photo deal? Well, now is the time!

I'm offering a special discount specifically for upcoming graduates. If you book a senior shoot with me anytime from now through June 6, I will take $40 off individual sessions, and $50 off group sessions of 2 or 3.

Sounds pretty cool huh? Send me an email at peter@petercheephotography.com or check out my main website at www.petercheephotography.com.

Now Hiring Senior Reps!

Hello Future Graduates,

I've taken a cue from a very good photographer friend of mine and am on the lookout for senior reps for 2010!

What do reps do? They help promote my senior portrait work to friends and classmates in school through word of mouth. Sure, I can stick with fliers and Facebook ads, but there's nothing as good as a personal referral like: "Hey, I got my pictures done through this guy. He's kinda goofy but really laid back. Here's one of his cards, go check out his stuff."

Who am I looking for? If you're part of the graduating class of 2010 then you're it! I'm looking for reps from high schools all over, from the greater Portland metro area, through Salem and all the way down to Corvallis.

What do you get in return? As one of my senior reps, your own portrait session is on the house, and for each successful referral I will pay you $15 cash. If you are a TOTAL rockstar and help 10 or more of your friends or classmates to book with me, I'll give you the choice of choosing between all the espresso you can drink in under 5 minutes, a free three-legged puppy, or a $50 iTunes gift card (Note: please PLEASE choose the gift card).

I'm hoping to line up a good number of senior shoots over the summer months and into the fall while the weather is great.

Interested in being a rep? Sweet. Send me an email at peter@petercheephotography.com and tell me how you might get word out there. These spots will fill up quickly, so get in touch with me soon to beat the rush! Also, feel free to check out the work I do on my main website: www.petercheephotography.com

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Jamie and Todd - Wedding

Jamie and Todd's wedding took place at The Queen Anne Victorian Mansion in North Portland on Saturday. It was a 7pm ceremony with Jamie and Todd staying apart beforehand. I knew ambient light would be in real short supply going in so I armed myself to the teeth with off camera lighting, speedlights and extra batteries. If I haven't said so yet, the Queen Anne Mansion is AMAZING. It's full of these great nooks and crannies for great portrait shots. However, the close quarters and low light can make it tricky for a shooter not packing extra lighting power, but I came prepared!

Anyway, Jamie and Todd are a really nice, laid back couple who unfortunately had their wedding plans turned upside down with the closing of the Empress Palace in February along with 27 other couples. Not only did their venue tank, but it took their sizable deposit along with it - no good! Fortunately, Jamie contacted me early this past week and we were able to work out a great quick coverage package.

It's looking like everything came together fabulously in the end. Jamie, who has a lot of modeling experience, went for a vintage pinup theme for her wedding. It came together AMAZINGLY well and I am super excited at how fun the shots have turned out. I think her theme matched perfectly with the Queen Anne. Anyway, congrats again to Jamie and Todd! Enjoy the shots everyone...

Amber and Ryan - Wedding

Had a great time this past weekend at Amber and Ryan's wedding in Tualatin. We managed to miss the hail/snow/slush that came down the next day -- yaay. However, we did have to brave the cold for the outside shots. Thanks to everyone in the wedding party for trooping it out!

I also had a chance to talk with Amick Events, who were on DJ and Host duty for the reception.

Anyway, congrats again to Amber and Ryan, you two are great together!
