I met up with Sharon and Daniel earlier this evening for an engagement portrait shoot. Walking around OSU campus in the summertime made me feel pretty nostalgic. Anyway, Sharon and Daniel are a lot of fun.
I took a trip out down some country roads to meet up with Brandy and Jake for some engagement pictures. I love shoots like this; they're really low key and it's nice simply to get to know a couple better - plus it was a nice day for a drive.
Here are some shots of my girlfriend's best friend Michelle. We'd talked for ages about getting a shoot done to help with her portfolio, and she finally made it out to Oregon to visit. Yay! Here are a few picks from the shoot around Portland's Pearl District.
I was shooting a portrait session with Michelle in the Pearl District in Portland on Monday and we came across a family of ducks making their way down to a park pond. So are the ducks cute enough to get their own post? Yes. Mama duck seemed to handle the stairs down to the water pretty well. The ducklings? Not so much; the little guy on the end totally biffed it. Don't worry, he was okay. When you're that low to the ground, falling over really shouldn't hurt you.
I was hired by Oregon State University to help cover several events tied to this year's Commencement, held on Sunday. I snapped a few shots of a breakfast gathering honoring WWII vets, then sprinted upstairs to shoot pictures of the University President, Commencement Speaker and top honorees as they prepared for the big ceremony. It was really a unique and honoring experience to see what goes on behind the huge event with thousands of parents and graduates. This was me just a few years ago, jeez time is flying.
In the evening I covered the Commencement banquet for top university officials. The food? Amazing.
Jen is an extremely talented dance instructor in the Portland area, and I got the chance to help shoot some grad portraits for her. She showed off her favorite spots on Marylhurst University's campus. For her it was all about getting pictures taken in the places many students don't know about - quiet spots where she'd often go and think by herself. Anyway, now she has shots she can take with her off into the wild blue yonder - to grad school across the pond in merry old England!
So this is what happens when I get bored, have done the dishes, cleaned the counters and baked cookies already -- I take new pictures of myself for facebook. It's fun what you can do with a shoot-thru umbrella, some back lighting and red curtains.
Hello and welcome to my blog, a place where I hope to post samples from my most recent work. Please check out my website at www.petercheephotography.com. Enjoy!
